Doula Book Club (June)

Introducing the Cincinnati Doula Network Book Club

Join our Doula Book Club

At the Cincinnati Doula Network, we believe that learning, connection, and reflection are essential parts of being a doula — not just for professional growth, but for sustaining ourselves in this work long term. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our CDN Doula Book Club.

This book club is a space created by doulas, for doulas, and is open exclusively to Cincinnati Doula Network members. Together, we’ll read one book every two months on the first Sunday of each month and gather to talk, reflect, and connect — both in person and online — so that everyone can participate in a way that works for their schedule and season of life.

Some selections will be educational or research-based, supporting continuing education and skill-building. Others will be lighter, reflective, or just plain enjoyable, offering space to rest our nervous systems, spark creativity, and remember why we love this work. Both matter. Both belong.

Members will have an active voice in shaping the book club. We’ll regularly invite input on book selections, themes, and discussion topics, ensuring the club reflects the interests and needs of our community. Whether we’re discussing birth work, trauma-informed care, boundaries, leadership, or stories that simply make us laugh or think differently — the goal is shared growth and genuine connection.

The Doula Book Club is not about assignments or pressure. It’s about slowing down, thinking deeply, and being in community with others who understand the unique emotional and professional landscape of doula work.

If you’re not yet a member of the Cincinnati Doula Network and would like to join the book club, membership information can be found on our website. Once you’re a member, you’ll receive all book club updates, meeting dates, and participation details.

We can’t wait to read, reflect, and grow together — one book at a time.
